Anyone had any dealings with this place?? After asking them for a price for some bits they responded very quickly and took my order within a day.
Order arrived promptly but now they don't seem to want to acknowledge the missing items or the stuff they missed off. 2 weeks later and the missing items have yet to turn up and they don't seem to answer my emails anymore.
Good service cost nothing !
These are my opinions based on my experience of using the company in question.
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave,
I'm afraid my experience with them is the same as yours. I've had several orders off them which have arrived with stuff missing and no reason given. The last one had 3 items missing that I never did receive despite emails etc. The postage charged was also considerably higher than the actual cost, even allowing for packing etc. I won't be using them again. It's a pity really because their prices are very good (apart from the postage). Perhaps it's just the mail order side that's lacking? I understand that they have had problems in the past due to illness. There was a similar thread posted some time ago.

Hi Dave Whilst I was working at Manchester Airport I lodged in Macclesfield and very often called to the shop in the afternoons. It was best to ring before calling as Norman, the old owner, would often close if he had a Doctor's appointment or whatever. I think he was well into his 90's when I was shopping there, that would have been 2004-2005. I have also bought mail order from them. However, I always did it by phone and can honestly say that their prices for the material and postage, to Northern Ireland, were more than reasonable. Now I may be wrong, but I have an inkling there are two firms in 'Macc' trading with very similar names, one regularly posted on ebay and the 'real' one has taken to this too. Since Norman passed away I think his grandson has been running the business and he seemed to me to be doing OK. It may be that the one you describe is not the one I have had experience of? I don't know. I would emphasise that I did most of my trading with them either direct in the shop or via the phone. Try 01625 433938; this is listed to the address I knew. The website correspondingly is www.maccmodels.co.uk/This message was meant to answer your query but now I read it back it seems to leave more questions than answers! Cheers Brian

Dave I've used them several times without problems, they even refund some of the postage if the internet automatic system overcharges, it is the one referred to by Brian. Ron

Hi Roger
Thanks for confirming my recollection. I was pretty sure there were two similar sounding enterprises in Macclesfield but couldn't find the other during my search this afternoon. I was beginning to wonder about my memory!
Cheers
