Just for interest,Trevor Shortland, now 84,receives a mention in the last edition of Steam Railway magazine (No 421),driving another of his designs (the 7-1/4" G King) at the Elmdon Society's track at Wythall,South Birmingham. The loco he was driving was built by a Mr Dennis Herbert. The loco featured in E.I.M. a while ago. There is a younger Mr Shortland to be found here.

I was reminded about our once proud car building earlier this evening on passing an Allegro Vanden Plas in the Royal Berks Hospital car park. My dear wife ahs been living there since April. This is why I havent been on here over the summer. We managed Bristol and Guildford this year. I have a new job and drove past two tracks during the day Guildford and dear Reading twice. Mr Handyman, only 120 miles driven and a sleep on the M25 about 4.30. M4 aka the car park was clear this morning which caught me by supprise. Nice to hear of Trevor being still around enjoying our hobby. David.
