Hi Guys, Can anyone give me Don Young's website address. I believe he has a tool for fitting snap rivets which takes the aggro out of it. I am struggling with a kit which uses 3/64" rivets and they are difficult to handle. You need a minimum of 3 hands to get these in and fixed, one to hold the rivet on the dolly, another to hold the work and the third to hit the damn thing with the hammer, and then you need another tool if you want to form a snap head on the backside of the work. I have looked for Don Young everywhere I know but he doesn't show though I am told he has a web site. Mott

He did have. Now, you would need to hold a seance to contact him.
From memory, that tool was described in ME, and also, probably in LLAS, Don's own magazine.

If it's the tool I'm thinking of, it first appeared in the series 'Pamela' in AME

Thanks guys. It turns out to be a Dave Noble tool for riveting 5" gauge wagons.Dave has told me how to work round this problem by using 2 dollys to compress the rivet ,one being in the drill vice and the other held in the chuck with the joint in between and using the drill press to sqeeze up the rivet. Obvious , once explained . Mott

Have a word with Hugh (Mothersole).
He knew Don quite well and at one time owned Don's IP rights.

Viffer, I just got Dave Noble muddled up with Don Young. But odd that others seem to remember a riveting tool in the context of Don Young so maybe in the dim and distant past he also had such a design.Mott
