That sounds a touch bigger than my Dairy Engine boiler, I think thats 4 x 9" or there abouts.
GLR certainly used to do a kit for a vertical boiler, don't know if its the right size

Hi Pete Here is link to the GLR vertical boiler, www.glrkennions.co.uk/model-engineering-steam-locomotive-boilers.html4" diameter, 8" tall for the boiler section. Comes as a kit but I expect you can buy the plan. I have one tucked away to start when I want something new to do. Design has been around for a long time, 80 psi operation, I got it for running Stuart models, injector testing and an alternative to compressed air for testing locos. Nice looking thing as well, especially with the wooden cladding. Usual disclaimer, no connection to the firm etc etc. DaveT Kuala Lumpur

I have built a GLR vertical boiler. Its been tested but not steamed. Its quite straight forward to build, i think i put it together in 3 heatings with a 1" burner. I did add some extra 1/4" x 40 bushes to give a bit more scope for adding extra's. Tubial Cane did a write up in model engineer which comes with the kit i bought, it was helpful when putting the boiler together.
