Hi Guys,
Does anyone have a copy of the article about the Model Thomas the tank Toby that was featured in the Model engineer and used a car dynamo as the motor?
Many thanks

Just a thought - are you thinking of the 5" gauge tram 0-4-0 loco designed by Rex Nicholls and that uses a converted dynamo driving through bevel gears? If so then the articles you need are in M.E. Vol 162, starting in issue no. 3845 of 17th March, then no.s 3847, 3849, 3851, 3853, and 3855. The first two articles are available on a website: aldeneem.co.uk so you can check from that. At the time the serial was published Reeves were supplying kits of materials + wheel castings but I don't know if they still supply them - might be worth an enquiry.

you are referring to "Going Electric". You can get the drawings still. I myself have the bogie Metropolitan version.

Indeed I am Matt. Robin (kingsteam9) has kindly posted me all the plans for the Toby. I've heard about the metropolitan version. Does it work well?
