Greetings John, so pleased that your castings are of decent quality. Re boring head, I can see no sign of chatter on the bores, so the tool can't be that bad, but for bores like this I prefer the between centres boring bar, which is very rigid, and should give a parallel bore, particularly when the saddle travels in both directions. Keep up the good work, you are encouraging me to unearth my set of castings. Regards Brian B

Good choice John, & nice try. I have decided that when I finish my A4, nearly there, and my 2-6-4 tank, I will start the Triple. Bit of a dream really!
Good luck with the Triple.

Greetings John, if you fancy a "Triple", Reeves do the Bolton triple, instructions for which have updated by Mr Bertinit, I think. My set of casting for this slightly larger engine are fine. Regards Brian B

Greetings Brian, yes they are used in several commercial fittings in the UK, mainly sandwiched between PTFE "washers", but have not seen a design for amateur construction yet. Regards Brian B

Greetings, I went Thursday and enjoyed it very much, found the wait at the catering stands a bit of a pain, that'sthe only downside. Plenty to see. Back Saturday for another dose. Regards Brian B

Greetings Terrier 060, you should have come to see us at Parklands Railway, 10mins from Potter Heighham, and a great 71/4 gaue railway. Let me know if you come this way again, sure something can be arranged. Did you also see the short 71/4 gauge Barton House railway at Wroxham, on the south bank, 1/4 mile downstream from the bridge? lots of railways to see here. Regards Brian B

Pete, keep going & follow your instincts. We moved 12 years ago, and like you had some issues about the new property, revealed via survey. I think problem with lack of planning permission for your side extension may be OK if it can be proved to have been completed for at least 10 years, when it would be OK, at least it was for us. We had an insurance policy taken out as well. Good luck at this stressful time. Regards BB

Greetings, I regret to say that I have made several attempts to load photos, and have found the instructions out of date & confusing, and in the end gave up. The idea of an explanatory thread, locked is a good one, bit I plead that the author remembers that some people are not so computer literate as others. Regards Brian B

Greetings, this is much the same system as the original Bob Moore pen and holder, details of which were handed out at a lecture at a 1970's M E Exhibition at Wembley, lecture. The pivot was locked by tightening the screw it pivoted on. Regards Brian B

Greetings, I prefer taper pins myself, mainly because I have had trouble getting them out. I understand that metric and imperial taper pins have a different taper, if so mixing them in error may give unreliable fits. Regards Brian B
