hi Chris Thank's for the reminder, I was aware of this but had forgotten so your post now being nearer the time will hopefully be fresh enough in my mind to remember to watch this. It had been advertised about a month ago on FB, IIRC this is a brand new program, I'm very much looking forward to it... Kind regards Pete

I will set a "recording" on FilmOn as soon as the BBC programming for that day appear on the platform. FilmOn is the only remaining platform these days where you can watch the BBC outside the U.K. As long as you do not set your "location", that's it. you can watch 'FilmOn' in the UK too with an Amazon firestick and 'Kodi' installed.....mind you with that setup you can watch any program that you wish across the world.... Several years ago, I was able to watch the BBC channels with a 1 metre diameter satellite dish, from my location in northern Catalonia. My two daughters are fluent in English thanks in part for having watched CBeebies and CBBC on the regular TV when they were childs. But at some time somebody decided that the BBC should no longer be available elsewhere, and made the satellite spot much tighter and focused on the U.K. territory. Currently, even with a 3m diameter dish, it can not be syntonized from my location. The official BBC web site is also restricted to the U.K., so you can not watch programs online from abroad. The only remaining platform that works that I'm aware of is FilmOn.

Kodi is internet based, no satellite needed.. ok, same as FilmOn then. not really...Kodi isn't a TV channel, it's an App written by Microsoft which when used with a TV stick and combined with user skins can access any TV programs out there, it also shows any film or TV show, even those that are still on general release....I'm not savvy enough to explain it's full potential, I just enjoy watching what's available...

But FilmOn isn't a TV channel either. It's also an app that runs in any device, including tablets, iPads, and some smart TVs. I can't tell the difference but FilmOn also includes real time internet broadcasting of most TV channels in the world, as well as current and past TV series and movies. I have the FilmOn app installed on my iPad and synced to my TV through an AppleTV. So I can watch any TV program right on my iPad or together with my family on the TV.

sorry Joan.,.yes of course it is, that's why it's on my available list....sorry my mistake...what I should have said is that to watch 'FilmOn' on a normal TV you need something like a TV stick and the Kodi app installed.....Kodi is the key to all of them, from what I understand it opened the door for viewing programmes from across the world including FilmOn on your home TV. there are literally hundreds of what they call 'skins' available via 'kodi' a skin is a 3rd person program that accesses the links required to view the programs. Anyone can create a 'skin as kodi is an open source program.

Hi Joan, I am not by any means knowledgeable about satellite reception, I am situated some 300 miles (500 KM) south of your location and there was a change in the satellite used a couple of years ago. However by upgrading from an 80 cm dish to a 1.4 metre dish I have no problem in receiving all UK based freeview channels, sometimes after 22 hour GMT in certain atmospheric conditions some channels are a bit variable, but switching to BBC Channel Islands usually gets round the problem. Regards Paul.

Hi Paul, where are you particularly located? Did you buy or rent a property in southern Spain? The need for a 3m dish was something that was said to be required when the British channels stopped to work with my 1m diameter dish. But I have not tried because of course a 3m dish is very expensive and way oversize-looking to say the least. In any case, I am happy now with the internet broadcasting service I use. Screen resolution is certainly worse, but at least it allows me to watch anything that interests me.

loved it....great program.....interesting to note how many signals were on the fireman's side when compared to the driver, perhaps preserved railways are more suited to the old ways, left-hand drive not so appropriate. I wasn't aware that there is two whistle pulls, will need to look into that to see if she always had this? In all, I enjoyed it very much, despite the odd prod from my wife asking why was I watching such a boring program.... Pete

Very boring and a waste of an hour.
Poor old Roger Norfolk really did make a mess out of starting from Bridgenorth, having to set back. He wont live that down in the mess room. It is not exactly Grosvenor Bridge on the 1 in 64 out of Victoria, or the climb to Copenhagen Tunnel out of Kings Cross!
If a repeat comes up I wont waste another hour watching it.
Cheers, Julian
