Hopefully there will be a huge backlash against these measures and they will have to do something different. One idea is to just show a thumbnail which takes you to the actual page which has their precious advertising on it. Personally, I think that's an acceptable solution, albeit less satisfactory than what we used to have.

I've tried right clicking on the offending ransom image on a couple of threads in various forums and for me I cannot get to the Photosuckit account to see the images. It may be that the image would need to be stored with the URL, which I normally delete as it often puts a line across the thread. Jo I've just tried on one of Adams Fittings posts. First I tried the right click and open in new tab. This didn't work. Then I tried Right Click and Open in New Window. That did work but it takes about 15 seconds to actually open the Photobucket picture.

If you click on the image from an iPad or mobile you get redirected to a site with an offer of a new iPhone 7. You can't get back to the original image and have to close the link. I don't mind looking at the advertising if I can then look at the image but that does not happen at the moment. It may be that I don't have a photo bucket account and they want me to open one but this is not the way to go about it, stear well clear is my initial response. I'm glad I went with Flickr but we will have to see if they follow the same route.

A simple answer may be to just open another Photobucket account, using a different name, password address and email address.

A simple answer may be to just open another Photobucket account, using a different name, password address and email address. I doubt that will work to be honest as Photobucket have made it clear free accounts will not be able to link photos to forums such as ours. I think we've been dudded by Photobucket. I'm keeping my Photobucket account so if someone wants look at it they can but in future I'll post photos direct from my phone via the Tapatalk app, it's a lot simpler too. Jim.

One thing to be aware of if you don't use your photosuckit account after 1 year they delete it Having got p**ed off with how long it was taking to load pics onto Photosuckit and get links I had moved over to embedding my photos on MEM. but I only post my builds on that one site (having had HMEM delete a block of my thread). Just thought I would see if I can still paste a link to my Photobucket pics:- It was a hell of a hastle to get in to my album. Couldn't remember my password to log-in as I have never had to use it since setting up, so had to got hrough the rigmarole of resetting it! Got there in the end and we shall see if this link to a photo still works. Bob

Mmm. No it doesn't and I have only used 14% of my Photobucket space! Will have to look at another way to show pics.

The right click does see to be browser specific, works OK in Chrome for me but not IE
Ignor that I was just able to get to 92220's picture of his pipe in IE too

Is there any way we can post thumbnails that can then be opened?

No can't even open it with a right click..
The problem with linking to Photosuckit is that it takes for ever to load anything and you loose the context of the photo relative to the post...

Another thing you can do is to go to the photobucket Facebook page where you can send them a message. I've just done that too. Looking at what's happening by googling Photobucket, it looks like they're getting a seriously hard time and a lot of bad press. The more we can add fuel to that fire, the better the chance of a good outcome.

I have just tried to access my account to make a back up of everything on PB....I can't access the damn albums..in fact I can see very little of my images...not sure if that means PB is having issues or what?...all I want to do is save all of the images that are mine...then I can close the account if this crazy decision isn't reversed...

I think I like Flickr, especially the auto upload feayture Don't count your chickens, it wouldn't surprise me to find them all following suit. They all have the same business model, so they must all be struggling. Presumably all those who are doing what we're doing will be switching to sites like Flickr. Either these sites will welcome the extra traffic, or they won't. Time will tell I did get a properly worded answer to my first Facebook message to photobucket, the second reply to my more terse message was to have a nice day. Still, at least I told them what I think. If enough do that, maybe they will change their minds.
