Had a look at that bike.WOW!WOW!WOW!!!and the loco is pretty good also. I read the text and can relate to your comments on being a one-man business and justifying the cost of one-off bespoke items. Regards , Barry

1.05mm drill, 12 BA, making the pivot for the locker door latch on the tender. Latch is yet to be shaped. Getting closer to the soldering up the tender tank and details. I even have an investment cast tap to go under the shoveling plate. 🙂 Crikey I am enjoying this little loco.

Thank you for posting the link to the big frame build - wonderful to see. The attention to detail and finish on those bikes is exceptional, and the freedom to design with new ideas must be a satisfying part.

I was channeling the Great George Daniels for my inspiration yesterday as all about there was terrific thunder storms but they all missed us here Everton Hills. There are photos about of cricket ball hail going through roofs and ceilings !!!! The tucker box door for the 16mm garden steamer worked OK. I need to finish the latch next. Tank filler and then assemble the tank proper.

Latch done yesterday after cleaning house upstairs. The fugly screw will be replaced with a 12BA rivet screw, when I find where I put them.

I would like some witchcraft via a CNC mill, but I have to continue to slum it,

The filing on those hinges is very impressive! And a little chamfer on the filler :)

No Feathers, it is not a toilet seat for the loco.

A wee bit of sawing here and there and a file here and there and the tender tank is getting very close to braze and soldering up.

It has it's moments, however it is now ready to soft solder to the tender tank top.

It has it's moments, however it is now ready to soft solder to the tender tank top. That's a lovely job Dazza, very neat and tidy. Will you just sweat that on with a pre-placed ring of thin solder wire around it and a load of flux? That's how I did mine and it worked a treat.

I am new to soft soldering such assemblies.

Soft soldering = steep learning curve at the Llewellyn Loco Works.

Really neat soldering and I love those brass sash cramps. Whole tender looks impressive with the tool box / door and filler.
