... and here's me still faffing with that Water Bowser project !! Nicely done there............ A tip if I may ??.........A while ago I had a Battery electric 0-4-0 shunter with a powered NCB truck attached.....The truck used motorised wheelsets from Maxitrak mounted in a sub-frame which was then attached to the base of the NCB truck.......This proved to be noisy so I introduced some 1/4" thick rubber between them and nipped down lightly with the nyloc nuts.....A much more resilient ride resulted... PS}---- a) I've been on a diet since then ..........b) There is now a black cover over the battery. It's since been sold and runs on the York track apparently.....Very powerful and on more than one occasion we pushed a failed steamer back to base !!

Hi Alan, like the coach, did it come from "Telford", I have one just like it. Just ordered an A23 belt for the Naerok miller still going strong and getting plenty of use in the Lockdown. Regards Paul

Regards Paul Hi Paul, Yes, it's one of AME's range of BR Mk1 Standard coaches with stretched vinyl finish......... www.ametrains.co.uk/mki-coaches/ --------- I've known that miller since it was a "Baby".....My late friend Barry bought it new from the London ME show, used it very sparsely for a couple of years, then sold it to me.............and then eventually it came to you... Isn't it good of HM Gov. to order us to stay at home and do model engineering ??.... Alan

I have two 4' coaches from AME in 7.25 gauge. Been very reliable, no derailments and they've been to a number of clubs carrying people.

Another Bright and DRY and warmish day greeted us as we made our way down the Garden. I headed straight up the ladder and onto the Roof of the Workshop Extension and began sticking down another length of roofing felt. This is the pricy stuff and has shown it works with the existing workshop. 5 years so far!
I got another length ready as it has masses of sand on the back which needs brushing off. I looked at the others in the store which had little tears in various corners! This one had no tears! It needs cutting. It also unrolls in the cold!
Last bit was in the workshop doing 2 F spokes.

Hi Nobby, Yes--- we're at Sutton Coldfield ---- one of the few tracks I don't mind going ground level on ---- but only with the electrical locos, my back won't stand up to low-level firing with my steamer !! When all this Covid eventually has been defeated do let me know the next time you plan to call-in and I'll arrange to be there at the same time for a meet-up.....Maybe one or two others on here could do the same ??

The Sutton Coldfield club's 2.5" gauge rally each August used to be my regular fixture - made it again in 2017 after a lapse of several years and haven't managed to get back again yet, but hopeful for 2021!

Alan, Pete, Malcolm, yes looking forward to seeing you all next year. Hopefully we will be back to normal and you may get a chance to see our 7 1/4 Lynton and Barnstaple in steam, which is now a completed club project. Thanks for the kind comments, regards Paul. p.s. did you notice yours truly acting as guard behind the steam loco in the final clip.

There really should be a spreadsheet somewhere of which MES have which gauge of tracks, then we could all do a round robin!
I might get my stoking skills sorted first though...

Well I think we had better keep an eye on the situation and post something on this forum when the time is right for a visit to Sutton Coldfield.

Sutton Coldfield is a superb Club and we visited in 2017 at one of their events. Booking early as the parking and numbers soon fill up. Yes I went to collect one of my part builds and was introduced to another set of drawings that enable someone not to complete a model of ASIA. OH The Quality of the machining and all in poly bags and desperate notes of the build!!! Masses of bits water jet cut including the frames. Yes complete re design underway via the drawing board!!! AGAIN. Today I almost completed the attachment of Roofing Felt on the Workshop extension. Then ran out of daylight. Now waiting for it to set before folding down the corners. Last bits of 2F Drawing out stay number 8. Which has taken some measuring of the Pump body and drawing to the bigger size. Again no mention of numbering of the stay or referencing where exactly the bolt holes line up with. All now done to the bigger size of 1 1/16" to the foot scale. Oh lets load up a Photo of the buffer beam The Butch buffer beam behind giving me the studs and by careful cutting and filing. The spacers. Such lovely stocks. Not fitted to the 2F but I couldn't resist. The first bit made to the NEW DRAWINGS!!! David and Lily.

Yesterday was our new puppy pick up day! Had travelled down country & stayed over night with friends, then 10 o’clock we got to meet Molly for the first time! She’s a wired haired fox terrier, then it was head home, her 2nd only trip in a vehicle. 5 1/2 hours latter we made it home! Today we were reminded how much time a puppy can use up in your day! So far so good! Now the training begins....... so I’m told! Trouble is I’m not sure who’s getting the training..........
Cheers Kerrin

Ah a wire haired fox terrier! We have one, hes 18 months old now and very lively. Training fox terriers is hard work, but persistence seems to pay off.
Enjoy!

What have I done to-day ??
1) I needed to contact the courier firm DPD....According to an E-mail from them they tried to deliver a parcel this morning.......Not so !!......I've been in the front room all morning, no door bell ringing, no knock on the front door....
2) Tried to get PayPal to register my landline telephone number as part of their EEC required upgraded security validation.........No luck despite 3 phone calls explaining that my mobile phone is broken and off-line...."Can't you buy another one" said the ethnic voice...."My Bank uses the landline so why can't you ??" I asked but that fell on deaf, corporate ears.....
3) Posted an E-bay package to a customer at my local Royal Mail counter-within-a-shop, and withdraw cash from my Bank account..........all went well !!..........Hoo---ray !!
4) Still can't shake off this damm hacking, dry cough---- the remnant of my annual 'Flu encounter---- despite having had the freebie jab !!....I sound like I'm related to Captn. Hacket and Bob Flemming .....
Never mind----- it's back out to the workshop and continue with the Boxford cleaning and re-wiring.....
and steak for to-night's dinner !!
