hi all,, i have had a good day on hunslet today, but there is a picture or two, of the valve gear which is well under way,.. and also had a load of water jet parts come on Thursday, and i have seen the inside con rod in the parts to, so will be starting on that soon cheers tom

HELP NEEDED,,, Can any body help in anyway but i am in need of some pictures for 4472 (with the two tenders) i have looked all over on the internet, but only found a few, does any body no where i can buy some or anything on the internet? thank you tom

cheers Pete it all helps as you no yourself, most pictures you end up finding are different from the one you have in some way, it drives me mad,, i have just looked at the model center link you sent and i love the model of her, it's just a shame it's 4 1/2 grand.. i may ask the wife, but i think i will no the answer as she like's to moan about the cost now. she is on my back now for an holiday so need a plan to put that off..... LOL

Hi all hope you have all had a good Christmas. I am looking for some information on the cylinder drain cocks on the FS. As I am not sure if they are steam or pull rods Operated. Any help would help I have not a clue all the best Tom

I think that today they are steam but will need to check once in front of PC.....I'll try to do that this morning..

Those look like very much like standard British Railways drain cocks, as used on Evening Star. Maybe they are replacements for the originals.

hi Bob.. the originals were 'Bowden cable' operated from the fireman's side, sanding gear being on the drivers...afraid i can't recall when this was changed though. I suspect not till preservation... it makes sense that FS uses BR parts , alas I doubt if there's much of the original LNER fittings left today..

edit:...just realised..I should say that this was the configuration when right hand drive, unusual to have the sanding gear on the drivers side I believe....
