Hi fellow modellers, my name is Andy. I’ve joined this forum after 50 years of diverse modelling because I’ve just acquired a part built 5” gauge live steam locomotive which I would very much like to complete. I have a small home engineering workshop with all the required machine tools plus the skills and experience to operate them. I was a technology (better known as metalwork) teacher for 30 years. What I don’t have is the knowledge to complete what appears to be a scratch built model of 326 Bessborough. Although the model has obviously spent many years under a damp workbench I have now refinished and painted what I have. It consists of a rolling chassis with coupling rods and con rods. Completed machined cast bronze cylinders and valve chests and twin water pumps. I have a copper boiler with smoke box and a number of additional parts. There is a folder of very tatty drawings and calculations including three of what appear to be original drawings of the full size loco. However there is nothing like enough information to complete the job and I cannot find a source of drawings for the model. If anyone is able to help with appropriate information I would be very grateful. I live near Leeds and I will be going to the Doncaster show on Saturday 11th if anyone there may be able to help. Cheers, Dr Andy Pike

Andy
I think you will find that there is a kindred spirit on the board who has produced a model of Bessborough. Hopefully he will be able to help and will get in touch with you.
