Does anyone know if it will be possible to park at the exhibition with my caravan on the back? I will be racing at Santa Pod that weekend, If I can park I could attend the exhibition then drive over to Santa Pod in the late afternoon

I think it may depend on when you plan to arrive and leave as it might not be possible to get out if there are a lot of caravans there. worth a call though... Pete

Wet and muddy however....
You won't be able to go with the traction engine crowd, there's no access to that area generally during opening hours

Should fit nicely across roadways, which have two cars length between, in main carpark or on the end. linkAs a last resort you could ask them? Enjoy!

Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition Thursday 13th to Sunday 16th October 2022 Warwickshire Event Centre We can’t wait to welcome you back to the Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition 2022 following two years of absence due to the coronavirus pandemic. We hope you are looking forward to your visit to this first model engineering exhibition post pandemic, meeting your colleagues and friends at The Show For Model Engineers. Sadly, as many will know, this is our first Midlands Exhibition without Chris Deith, our well-known Director and founder of the exhibition, who passed away suddenly in May this year. Chris will be remembered by many in the model engineering and hobby world. Chris presented the first Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition in 1978, at the Granby Halls, Leicester, and many visitors will have fond memories of that first exhibition. For over 40 years the Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition has been a labour of love for Chris and he gained huge pleasure in presenting the show each year. This year we are delighted to be welcoming back nearly 40 of the leading model engineering specialist trade suppliers, all waiting to meet you in person again and provide everything you need for your modelling activities. The exhibition showcases nearly a thousand fascinating models in the competition and display classes, clubs, societies and outside exhibits. We know that the many clubs and societies will be delighted to be back with you in person. The team have worked hard to deliver the Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition 2022 in honour of Chris and to make sure that his legacy lives on. In his remembrance, we are introducing a new prestigious annual award for models in competition class “The Chris Deith Memorial Trophy” for Best Model in Competition Class entries. For more information on the event and to book tickets please see www.midlandsmodelengineering.co.ukTickets are also available on the day of your visit from the ticket office. Please have correct cash ready or pay by card. The Meridienne Team

I got to the second Exhibition, then it moved to the center of Birmingham all while I was a student in Coventry. Many times to the University and once to the 1988 one. Time fly's.
David and Lily.
Are we having a meet up?

As much as I would like to go I will not be attending For what it would cost to get there and the time it would take me I feel it would be a waste of time. I am sure there are some fantastic exhibits and stalls, which I don't think now offer the show discounts they once did. With the money saved from travel entry fees I could put that towards more bits and pieces for the workshop. If there was one in the London area which there use to be I would probably attend

If there was one in the London area which there use to be I would probably attend Have to hope the Ally Pally one starts up again although with the new emission charge zone including that area I suspect the exhibition centre will suffer from out-of-towners like me and my mate not going down for a day out. What with the total mess up in Manchester over the emission zones where most of the vans were sold cheaply only to be told of it being cancelled! Stops so many from attending events in London. We are just back from Rugby where a drop in numbers told of the petrol prices biting into attendance. 160 miles round trip for us and a serious problem constantly encountered with the 15 year old car being overtaken. This being followed by a rapid application of brakes as they encountered the next speed camera and in the case of a Merk the police set up in a very hidden place. We know the road far too well as we go that way to the Midland Exhibition north of Banbury. Off the M40 (which had a car on its roof and miles of car park behind.) And turn right by Tesco or go in for the toilet!!!
Plus our new problem of a growing civil War between India and Pakistan via Leicester.
David and Lily.

I'm trying to book a ticket online, the brochure says £10 a ticket. The online booking system is trying to charge me £11, and thats before I include any other fees that sometimes pop up on these things...
EDIT - Misread it, the garden railway show is the one with the prices on the guide. The prices for the MMEE are not on the guide at all...
To be fair to them, there were no hidden fees. I've been stung so many times by ticket sites and its frustrating. This was quite straightforward.

Current plan is to go Thursday and I guess disappear into a sea of similarly dressed old men.
I still have the old forum badge somewhere, have worn it to a number of MEXs and never been challenged. If anyone here has any plans of producing a new version can I suggest its at least a foot in diameter and a high contrast colour that stands out well.
And another thing: I bring a rucksack that on previous visits fills up and gets quite bulky. If I appear rude and not to rotate 90 degrees and squeeze through a small gap between groups of frenzied old men its because I'll be wider side on than head on. Please give way a bit.
