For the last few years I've been making a 1/4 model of a motorbike I built in the 60s, currently making spokes and nipples, thread M0.8. Also looking for a 3d printing firm in the Leicester area, to make a mould for a rear tyre, I've made start with fusion 360, Any recommendations would be very welcome. Varied past experience, retired design teacher, ex member of a Remap panel (www.remapleics.org.uk) plus just making things, is it a kind of madness?

Triban4,
Welcome.
I would suggest you go and re-present your 3D print needs in the 3D Section found lower down in this forum.
You can't just get away with "I'm making a quarter scale motorcycle ... ". Great! There's too much steamy stuff going on here and a tank.
Maybe start with which bike/model.

Thanks for the interest. I wasn't sure how much there'd be. The original bike (a "Special") comprised part BSA B31, Triumph T110 engine and Norton roadholder forks and front wheel, plus various one off parts like a twin contact breaker in place of the magneto. The Triban, as I called it, was my sole method of transport for a while for me and young wife. A few years ago we were chatting about those times and I said I wish I still had it instead of replacing it with a Morris Minor, but I could make a model of it. Having sown the seed, considered the idea and reckoned I had the skills and tools (Myford S7, bench drill etc) to do it, and this is a recent pic:- but the forum wont let me upload at the moment, is there another way to attach files? Better resolution on Flickr under 1/4 scale motorbike

Ah - you've hit the snag with this site. You can't upload pictures directly - you have to save them first to an image hosting side like Flickr, and then link them in. There's a thread about it here: modeleng.proboards.com/thread/1627/post-picsWilf
