Can anyone help please, how do you go about cutting water gauge glass tube to length. I bought dia5mm approx 300mm long and need to cut a small peace from this for my Minnie Traction Engine water gauge.

or similar to what jason B said, but instead of a stanly knife blade use the diamond wheel in a tile cutter with the glass sat in a Vee block then snap the end off..

Hello All, Scratch the surface with an acute angle needle file then break it off whilst wrapped in a cloth. Anneal each end till a radious appears. Albert.
