Good afternoon folks, my apologies for lack of blog updates over the last few weeks. As mentioned my mill decided to throw a wobbly which slowed things down somewhat. Luckily it didn't cost money to fix, just stripping down the spindle, repack with grease and tightening the taper bearing collars. This blog entry covers the completion of the outside connecting rods, well accept some final bits which are detailed in the blog. The updates may be less regular for a short while as I'm going to be giving my classic car some much needed TLC, it won't stop the updates but will mean my time is split for a while.
Evening chaps.... I've been playing today and have uploaded two new videos to my blog... Here's one of them which has been compressed to fit on Imgur.. the original on YT should be much better. This one is a rolling test, the other just a walk around.. hope they are of interest..
The new blog entry which covers the first outside piston to be fitted has just been posted, the other one will only take me a short while in the morning and then I'll do the middle which I'll cover in its own entry sometime next week.
Evening chaps, this is the more detailed 'walk around' video that I promised last time around... please forgive the few errors such as calling Wakefield lubricators, Westfield...
what a informative method of presenting the finer points of your excellent version of the Flying Scotsman. You have put so much effort into researching what existed in a point in time and needs to be modeled for true accuracy, together with the skills to realise them. Look forward to the next video presentation.

A lot of fabulous work there . Makes me tired just thinking about it.
Inside connecting rod is now fitted, next job will be a lot of tidying up and a fair number of oil pots to be machined. It's all getting pretty tightly packed in there...
As mentioned yesterday I've been a little busy of late working on the car and thus not much to show with this build but there are some things happening in the background and one such thing is the rolling road. I have now put the details on the blog, a big thank you to ED at Model engineers Laser for his superb kit. The car still has a way to go but I hope to post a proper update soon, I just find it difficult these days to concentrate on more than one thing at a time...lol Anyway, here's the RR details
I decided that I needed a little retail therapy....two inexpensive items...an FS mug which surprisingly shows here in A1 configuration. I didn't want to be too sad by putting my name on it so chose 'Gresley's Masterpiece'...the other item is an official FS T-shirt, again, it's suitably dated/styled. Perhaps it can be my official attire when steaming the model...๐
I am surprised by the diamond motif on the Tee shirt - FS wasn't built by North British Loco.!!

2.5"g narrow gauge modeller - Bagnall 0-4-2T, L&B 2-4-2T "Lyn" and just completed Burma Mines Rly 0-6-0 - all to 1.25": 1'. Now working on the next 2.5"g model - ex-Mecklenburg Pommersche Schmalspurbahn No.99 3462, until recently on the Waldeisenbahn Muskau near the Polish border....
The new mug has arrived.... I had to buy this when seeing that it was an A1, most are as preserved. I didn't want to put my name on it so chose the words 'Gresley's Masterpiece'
Just another little something to the collection...
