i need your wisdom again gents,i need to find out the thread size for a 3 and a half inch bantam cock safety vale ,just got one and one of the valves is dogdy,no plans came with it, so i ask you oh wise ones. lol many thanks in advance john

Bantam Cock Safety Valve. Hello Drifter. I'm in the process of building Bantam Cock. You might find my thread of interest! This is it here - modeleng.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=3948&page=1Here's a photo of the safety valve drawing, but - I though a 3/8" x 26 thread a little coarse so I've made mine 3/8" x 32. So it might be a good idea to check the thread in the boiler bush just in case the builder has done things to his own liking as I have done. Chris.

many thanks for that,now im gonna be cheeky, i had to take the axle pump boiler clack on the back head of f the other day and noticed there wasnt a spring in there,could you tell me if there has to be one and of so what size? thanks in advance, john

Hi John,
Vertical clacks do not normally have a spring fitted as the balls seat by gravity.
