Coal Bunker beading. Now who gave me the idea to raid Jan's peg box! It needs a little Isopon on the seams... I think that might have been me. :-)

First Stage Primer. From this humble beginning: To this where you can't see the joins. From a distance anyway... Getting there!

First coat today with Phoenix Precision Paint. Chassis and bunker done with two pack satin black. Doesn't take three months to dry... Not too bad! EDIT. The paint colour is so much lighter under the LED battens! The sideboard suddenly looks 100% better! It'll be even nicer with the bits added!

Putting the Brit to bed for a while - again! I've achieved what I wanted, sufficient paint and adornments such as the window frames to look OK on the sideboard while we are away in Spain and Portugal for three months. The paintwork is NOT my usual standard: it needs rubbing down and more coats to match the finish on Bill Shakespeare! It's been fun though, and a reminder of how it could look when it is finally finished! I'll say it before David (Midland) does. It looks from the rear more like an armoured car than a tender! There we go, last picture...

After a long chat with myself and my good friend David (Midland) I've decided to move the Britannia on to a good home. I'm never going to drum up the enthusiasm to finish it, let alone drive it! It's 95% complete, unsteamed TIG boiler, and you can see that it's to exhibition standard. It's in Glass Case mode so a few gaskets would be required... Talk to me. John
