Guys,
Re Helicopter: the manual includes a complete list of spares but no prices. Maybe this says it all. It might be more economic if I'd bought two, maybe next time.

Re Model Helicopters.
As a helicopter flying instructor in a previous incarnation, a formidable lady marched her somewhat cowed looking husband into my office one day and told me to "Teach this idiot to fly a helicopter, its got to be cheaper than repairing the model I bought him for Christmas"
I explained the time it might take and the cost and she showed me the repair bills. Ouch!
Actually he got on quite well in the real thing so with some 10,000 hours under my belt I asked one of my fellow instructors to let me have a go with their model. Bell Jet Ranger
He duly turned up one afternoon with about 1.5ks worth of model and said before I let you try there is something I need to do. He produce a large plasic hoop, bigger than the rotor diameter and fixed it to the skids by means of long garden canes.
I thought cheeky sod. He was right, I could'nt fly the damm thing to save my life.
Take my word, if you buy one, fix the biggest hoop underneath it can lift, and save a lot of bills

As another professional helicopter pilot I also cannot for the life of me fly a model. When flying the real thing and it turns say to the left then the rest of the world (which is what you can see), turns to the right. When flying a model, if it turns left, you see it turn left.

Guys,
If I can crack the heli right/left and reverse it'll help me master my 50" RC yatch. As a once long time Air Cadet gliding instructor I know there's no substitute for looking out of the window you're controlling.
Just seen the TV Ad where the girl friend deliberately crashes the boy friend's RC plane because he used his foot to close her car door. Better keep my new toy from the wife ;D

John,
Solo in 1968 in ZN241 Cadet MkIII (and later put in into a corn field) then after a Staff Cadet apprenticeship worked through instructing on MkIII, Sedburgh (nice) (both open cockpit), even a hop on/in a Grasshopper then Venture motor gliders (a hotted up Motor Faulk) then the Grobe 103. Did the 5 hours and the 10K feet. Gave it all up years ago and discovered a wife, two daughters and a house that needed decorating and never looked back. Then came ME.
All,
Back to Ally Pally: Went there Friday for the Super Bike do. I didn't recognize the place. For a start it wasn't packed with tight old farts looking for a bargain or the stalls of crap that should have binned years ago. Mr Halfix glue and the Diamond file lady were there. That dark corridor entrance was lit up and had a line of the sweetest bikes available. Left was a tent of stands and a food/beer outlet and right was another hall full of stalls and old/new M/C kit as was the main hall. Wide walkways and an included two hourly stunt bike display in the ice rink out back. Ooh! and loads of scrawny slightly clad totty sprawled over the merchandise and a food outlet in each corner. All for two quid more than last weekend. The folk I meet were all great and I had a great time plus spent too much again.
Tip: Try not to walk from the Woodgreen Underground station, it;s a bloody long way. When you see the Palace it doesn't look far but its BIG and actually a long walk away. Got the courtesy bus back.

When I worked at AP under the mast I used to walk to and from the station. After a few days it seemed to get easier. Not much fun in bad weather though.

You might say that Steve, I couldn't possibly comment. You'll have to watch the Karma though! ;D Regards, Bo
