<Voice if not from the grave then from the prison cell.>
Hi gang
I'm hoping to be let out for Ally Pally on Friday. I'll be the greying bloke who is going a bit porky with the thirsty look on his face and wearing a red fleece in the bar at 1pm should anyone like to put me out of my misery by buying me beer.

But if you are wrong in your choice I can't believe it'll go too badly if you say to a suspect "Can I buy you a beer?" Oh and I'll have 24 hours of stubble which I find a bit of a giveaway as MEs in general seem to be either like Esau or like Jacob. Apologies to greasemonkey; I didn't see your thread. Brian I'm sorry you can't be there again[/i][/u], send me the money and I'll buy me own.

It is a bit much when Aussies start casting aspersions about convicts.

Even looks like a convict... Him or me? Him of course, only his Avatar and only kidding Although that could be a distinguishing feature that you could mention, rather than the fleece, if it applies Regards, John

You used the F* word John. Don't get Terry excited.
I only asked as over the summer I was sporting a No2 haircut (and will be tomorrow if I get the chance) leading to convict jibes from my wife, 3 Horses.
Cheers!
* F for fleece. Ewe know what they are like about sheep.

Now I would have looked for you and asked how your two repaired motors were, but for two things :-
1. I had to leave the show shortly after 12.00 after a lightening visit on Friday
2. Your description fits near 50% of the Model Engineers attending the show. 30% of the remainder don't own a red fleece and the last 20% are - like me - going bald as well as grey.

Well I have a arrived home after a day out at the ME EX and what can I say except in my honest opinion (IMHO) it was a complete waste of money and time. The hype was just that hype, the tanks were in a small area and as about the boating pool my son has bigger swimming pool. Was the space better used No. There seemed to be mutiple stools seeling the same sort of goods. I will not be attending another in London. I will how ever attempt to visit the Harrogate and if that is as bad I will never go to another. I took a friend who also thought it a complete waste of time. If the organisers go by attendance it will probally look good as there was a fare que when we got there at about 12:00 but if this is the premiere show in the southeast trying to encourage more people into ME then I do not think it will work. Enough of my ramblings but would be interested in other peoples opinions.

Andy I was sorry not to see you. I'm very much hoping to be allowed out on parole this weekend to wire up the shaper motor. I will most certainly email you once I've done so and to quiz you further on cruises. I'm sorry it has taken so long.
Uzzy I felt it was worth going to the show just to see the B1 on the Tonbridge stand. I feel it is one of the finest pieces of model engineering I've seen since John Heslop's P2. I'll try and publish some photos.
We had an interesting 4 hours going round. I always feel ME shows are like Punch. They are not as good as they used to be but they never were.
