Putting the 3D Printed Masks into practice.
Held down with neodymium magnets Masking removed. The second masks would go over this and define the black. The lines are quite straight: the phone camera distorts them! I'll probably rub it down and do it again as it isn't quite right...A good try anyway!

Tender Lining TryoutIt will get rubbed off as I'm only just getting the hang of things. Better next time! Unlined : the shading on the frames is just a trick of the light. Lined

Great for first attempt, like the ideas you come up with, always good to see different approaches to a task.

Glad to see you haven't lost your touch John! Such a very elegant locomotive, I must say.

looking good John, I taped up the treads a little to make it easier to remove the paint, especially in the flange corner. I then polished them between centres on the lathe.

For a collective noun I would suggest a round of wheels!
I like the jig for holding the wheel during spraying. That’s one for the how to do it book.

POSCA Pens Rule OK!An easy to make edge guide from brass tube and a sprig. I'd better let these wait until tomorrow before I do the white thing. I'll put a small piece of masking tape at each corner to start the white line in the right place. A slightly wider black nib would be better, I'll have a look tomorrow. Well chuffed.

Sand Boxes Lined and Lacquered.Got the hang of the pens now: the little guide seems to work well. Sand boxes lined 0.7mm white and lacquered. Most people would be quite pleased with the result... Still in satin paint finish. Lacquered. The slight colour change is due to the booth lighting.

Having seen it first hand John I can concur, excellent job and the pens are so easy to use, thanks for showing us yesterday.

Cleanliness is Next to GodlinessPerhaps I ought to replace my Kite spray gun filter more often! Looking at it, I suddenly had this bright idea...it screws straight onto the 5/16"/32 injector feed! The drying cabinet is getting rather full! Nearly there. John

The Masked Dancer has nothing on this!Stage one, the tricky bit! Stage Two, filling in the gaps. Stage Three, slapping the paint on, inside and out! Stage Four, we wait!
