Little more tonight got the center planks cut around the doors and the two inset planks around the door ends along with the two thin finishing bits either end of the floor to lock I in place

Bit of fettling of plank lengths still to do so the curb rails fit properly on the side closet to the bottom of the picture but quite pleased with the fit all round

Only a little progress
Steel uprights are made and cut to length bent and filed ready to fit need to fettle the squareness as I fit them but that’s easily done

And a couple of them have been let in to the cross members so the floor will sit flush.

Few more to go and I can work up the sides slowly….

Continued fitting the steels tonight cutting the rest of the notches in the frame then notching the floor boards to fit around them ready for them to be drilled appropriately once the base fixing holes are in
Plan is to do one as a template and copy all the others so they are as close to identical as possible


They aren’t bolted down yet so not perfectly strait I have sat and squared them up slowly so are nice right angles and square to the bases

Uprights are drilled and fitted and test fitted some of the side planks while deciding how to proceed



Think I’m going to make the outer steel work and use those as drilling guides for the internal planks and steels this way I can make the outer ones as precise as possible think il start with the center rear wooden beams and then corners

Last night saw the bolts on the frame be shortened and filed

Curb rails fitter and floor panels fettled to fit once the curb rails were tight.

Then proceeded to build up the fixed end using m1.6 with small head nuts as they are larger than the others used in the rest of the body
Will be using m1.2 for the rest of the body to give a good size difference
