After a quiet couple of years there's some progress, the saddle tank is nearly there. I had to make it by hand bending the metal round a block of wood. Hard going but I don't have access to rollers. See if I can remember how to post photos! Tim

Just a quick update so you know I'm still alive and kicking...(partly prompted by the recent post in the boiler section on superheaters).
Firstly my photos on this post have all been "Photo-bucketed" - enought said. I am working on a solution...
Last year not a lot of progress was made and I had issues getting my boiler tested....
This year a test was verbally arranged. In preparation reading the test code it recommended including the super-heater. So I performed a quick home test first and discovered a few pin prick leaks. After several attempts at re-soldering, and even rebuilding part of it I still didn't succeed and eventually burnt the threads :-(
So now I'm redesigning the superheater making as much as possible out of a solid GM block to reduce the number of solder joints and give a greater chance of success (I hope).
But with summer here, and my elderly father to care for now, not much progress has been made as yet... I'm happy enjoying life at present but do look forward to finally getting the hydraulic and steam tests completed so that I can move on to the final painting....
Hmmm....how long did Bongo take? Yikes! Plenty of fun to look forward to I'm sure. New challenges to overcome and new skills to learn. Oh in preparation, I have purchased an air compressor...
Regards Tim

Nice to hear you're still there. My photos have been Dropbaxed, so you're not alone.
