Sorry to have missed yet another ME Exhibition (no rest for the wicked) and the opportunity to put faces to online identities. I just wonder if those of us who go to exhibitions and other club events wanting to meet up with members that they met online here would wear (a suitably tasteful) badge to show they subscribe here?
This is not an attempt to promote some outrageous commercial enterprise - merely a matter of personal interest!

Yes that's a great idea. However after being underwhelmed by Ally Pally on Saturday, I think mine will only be useful at Harrogate from now on!
Count me in please!
Cheers

Does this mean I can throw my pink dress away? Never worked as an ID anyway, always got arrested before I got into the exhibition! Waggy.

Apart from avoiding the (albeit minor) cost of getting a pin made, could we not come up with a suitably subtle signal which could be our badge of honour? shirt or jacked buttoned up one hole out etc... If the show is not much good it would give us something to look out for. Eccentric ideas? Chris.

if I remember rightly there was an idea that members of this site wear a badge with the "@" symbol on it a couple of years ago, either when this site was new or just before when it was an email list. I don't know if anything was done about it or what effect it had as it was for an exhibition I wasn't going to. I don't know if I'll need one as exhibitions don't appeal to me even if I could get to them. I hope that this might jog a few memories.

Guys,
I was wearing my silly red hat all around Ally Pally and did the bar just after 1 o'clock Saturday and none of you guys stood out.
I did get a lot of odd looks but no one challenged me and got the fiver.
Yep! I'll bite.

Yes, the "@" badge was tried for a couple of years. Not sure how many people tried it, nor how effective it was.
The only time I used one, it didnt seem to attract any attention.
Now who was it suggested wearing a potted geranium on their hat?

As far as a design goes I seem to remember a fews years back getting a badge at the ME at AP not sure which year but I think it incorporated crossed dividers or something similiar. Mind you we don't want to be taken for the Masons!!!! do we. If the design is not to intricate it could be a badge or a shirt! I'll see if I still have the badge.

Nice idea - sign me up for one! Which? The badge or the potted geranium on your head? Mind you, the potential sight of multiple people wandering around Harrogate Show in bloom fills me with mirth, somewhat Pythonesque... ;D Definately not too precious to try it Tel.... perhaps you think Brits fit the sterotype... you lager guzzling, cork swinging, sheep worrying, "nah pufta's" ex convict
