Hi folks,
If you decide on a badge, how's about coming up with a design which allows you to make your own - that means no-one has to sort out and supply them etc. Shouldn't be too hard to come up with something distinctive but easy to knock up. Or is that a daft idea?

'm in to Didn't we discuss a MECH sweat shirt a while back What ever happened to that idea. Lee Hi Lee, Yes, I started the sweatshirt 'thread' ;D There were only a few members interested, and therefore I let it die a death! I like badges, they're good discussion topics at shows and clubs. I'd certainly like another one for my driver's cap! Geoff

Many years ago the EIM crowd arranged for free badges to show that you were a member of the "International Guild of Model Engineers".
I recall you sent in your details (they added you to a mailing list that meant you got free firelighters through the post until they finally gave up) and in return you got the badge. I wonder if a similar arrangement would work again?

Silly Question, when is Harrogate?
I want to book my flight on the "sleazy" Jet from Dublin. (I don't mean Stelios, he doesn't fly to Dublin).

Must be a nice enamel badge. Designs:
Micrometer 'measuring an '@' symbol or vernier measuring 'www'
Could just say 'MECH online' in a gear wheel, perhaps with the URL going around the edge.
Not very original I know - any other ideas folks?

Something like this? Not sure how much detail you can put on an enamel badge, but judging by the ones of locos we all had as boys (or still have ) a fair amount can be included. MM

Think I prefer these - bearing in mind it will be a small badge, the middle bit needs to be bigger: I think the RH one works best. MM

Ahh that will do...
Right click...save...print on my printer.. hmm A4 size???
No enamelling needed, or expense
Proudly worn and roughly cut out at the next decent ME exhibition in Harrogate ;D

Not being a miserable so and so but the cog is very similar to our societies, City of Oxford S.M.E, logo as well as a supplier beginning with H that sells bits and pieces.
