The Princess Royal is in ticket, mainly due to water coming in from injector, axle pump and hand pump. Oviously all the other bits worked as our inspector wished to see so the "adventure" is complete and I must find a good home for her. I must collect up all that I have learnt for the new owner. I had a letter from a stranger who explained how it happened to have a double chimney but I have lost it in the last few days, very annoyed at myself but it will turn up! This all starteed in June 2018, how time flies. So I will put her on or in the market and see what happenes. Shot clip of her running, a beautiful chassis, everybody remarks how well it runs. Princess R in Ticket by David Goyder, on Flickr Cheers and thanks for all your help on the way David

She’s a Beauty, David! A job well done! Your cozy workshop MUST have something to do with that! Plenty of Feng Shui in there! The ‘Princess” has plenty of “chi”!

Thanks. She will look better with the cylinder covers, the hooter and numbers on the cab. Even a little lining will spruce her up a bit. Really a pity to sell her but even though the cosy workshop is fine with lots of Puccini and Verdi, I just do not have any space left! Cheers David

Well, well from reports up north where the civilised people live the Princes Royal, is doing well! A few tething troubles for a new born after 50 years but all sounds good. Let's wish her happy girl! Cheers David

She must be a powerful 3.5 inch gauge loco, with four cylinders and such a large boiler. Does she steam well? Ed

Yes the Jackson drawings show six vertical water tubes in the combustion chamber. It is a complicated boiler, and definitely not for the beginner! Ed

Here is the original Jackson drawing showing the long combustion chamber and eight water tubes success - i'd forgotten that this process doesn't like uploading .tif or .pdf files
