Don’t have a photo hosting account, but as a suggestion try converting your drawing to a jpeg file. It maybe that imgur is limited on file types it allow to be used.

Ron...I just copy each file to my desktop ready to drag across to Imgur, it's a routine that I do for each update...take photo, send to my email, copy to desktop, open imgur in minimised window and drag the file to whichever album I want it in. I then move the files from the desktop to the folders that I store them in to keep the desktop clear for next time. I do my FB update before doing this as it takes the images directly from my desktop...no need for a hosting site when using FB. Experts probably have much better/professional ways of doing these things but at least my mind knows 'what's what', doing it my way.. cheers Pete

Kerrin/Peter
The autocad save still gives the .dwg suffix The file now reads returncrank.jpg.dwg and i cant seem to drop the .dwg bit!! Plus my trusty old photosuite 4 doesnt work on Windows 10 so am now looking for a free/cheap phot image prog, that will convert mt 23mb pics to a size that i can post on the system withing it going into spasms!!
Getting the new door on the shed this morning!! will gain about 6 sq ft of usable space

If all else fails I take a 'screen pic'..paste it in 'paint', crop to size and move that to 'Imgur'

Hope this helps Pete

Does anyone know what is going on with Flickr. My videos do not seem to work anymore and I am having trouble logging in to add images. Is it still part of Yahoo which keeps asking for a BT login which BT won't accept! Personally I would like to keep as far away from BT as I can and Yahoo!

Just logged in to Flickr. Everything works fine (including your videos). No, Flickr is not part of Yahoo anymore (acquired by SmugMug), but this didn't change either your Flickr logon or password.

It's beginning to look like free hosting of a large number of photos on sites such as Flickr and Photobucket is soon to become a thing of the past. The solution I'm probably going to adopt is still a paid one, but since I already pay for it that's not an issue. I currently use Dropbox for all my file backup and syncronisation between office and workshop computers rather than use a network which can be troublesome to say the least. Dropbox gives me 1Tbyte of storage for £7.99/Month which is not unreasonable if you run a small business like mine. My PC's 'My Documents' folder is hosted by Dropbox which means that everything I write, design or photograph is not only on my PC but also gets uploaded to the Cloud and hence on to my other PCs. To embed Dropbox pictures on this forum, it's necessary to bookend the Dropbox link such as this... www.dropbox.com/s/vfmief1ozfqoj0p/IMG_1436.JPG?dl=0... with at the front and [/img] at the back. The embedded picture has the property that it dynamically changes in size when you change the size of the page it's being viewed on. The only downside, besides cost, of doing this is that you have to be disciplined about what folders you choose to store those images. If you move them, the link is broken. If you rename them, the link it also broken. My recent rearrangement of folders is pretty logical, but I'm wondering if it might be better to copy the images into a 'shared' folder so that I'm still free to change things at will in the file structure. I'm currently using only 109GB of the 1TB so there's plenty of room to do that. I'll have to chew over the pros and cons of that.

Do you have to have Flickr pro in order to get the link data for posting photos?
It’s been ages since I posted anything and just can not find the code?

I just have the ordinary account and it works ok for me, it's now limited to 1000 photos though. Follow the link on the third post to Rogers tutorial on posting photos.

You getting a mere 1000 photos vector they lock the account. You have to pay a subscription to get the unlimited option that you were originaLLy told you had for free. I'm just getting family and friends to open a free account and using their allowance.

This isn't going to suit many but its a handy trick if you want to give it a crack; I upload to instagram as I have a detailed build log on there, then open up the HTML source of the webpage to find out the url of the image as stored on the Facebook server (Facebook and Instagram being interlinked now). As a result that means I can just post a link and let them host the image.
