I open Flickr, find the photo I want to link, and click on it to display nearly full screen. In the bottom right corner is a curved arrow. - click on that. A dialogue box will appear, and make sure you have selected the right hand tab (BBCode) at the top of the dialogue box. Copy the link that is in the middle of the box, and paste that into your post.

I do the same as Steve, it works ok for me. Also, when you are on the dialog box and before you copy the BBCode just drop down to the image size box to decide on the finished image size. I find that medium/medium works fine for me.

OK, then; I'll give those instructions a go. There should be a photo of my loco crank axle here... DSCN6525 by Nigel Bennett, on Flickr Ha! It works! Thanks, Steve! 18-Oct-21... Looking back at the photo above, I now remember that I had to take one wheel off again after I took the picture; if you look carefully, the balance weight is in line with the LH crankpin, whereas it should be opposite, as on the RH side. I seem to recall Chuck doing something similar in one of Terry Aspin's brilliant cartoons... Doh! as they say.

Help on posting photos please. I put the photos I wanted in my post and using 'Insert image' and Flickr as the host. When I try to put the image in my post only the link address appears. I want to post some more photos, but I want the pictures in the post not just the link. So I opened an Imgur account and now in the post all I get is a photo avatar for want of a better word and not the photo, and no link either. See below. While Flikr allows you a link, it also give the little R and L arrows so the entire album is available from the post, not only that photo. Photos are approx 50-150K in size (not huge ones). If I try to 'Add attachment' instead, all seems to go OK with the photo uploading then I get the message QUOTE Unable to upload file Headstock_DuringBending.jpg. Error: This forum has exceeded its attachment space limit. Your file cannot be uploaded. UNQUOTE What am I doing wrong? All I want is to put 1 or 2 images in a post, with the photos visible in the post and ONLY that photo, not access to the whole album. Some assitance appreciated.

You must NOT use the 'Insert Image' button.
On Flikr, you need to get the picture you want to display on the screen, and then click on the curved arrow in the bottom right-hand corner. In the panel that appears, make sure you are on the tab marked BBCode, and copy the line of text in the middle. You must then paste this into your post (Reply - not Quick Reply).
Click on 'Preview' to see if it worked.

I cant get it to work and shouldnt have to use 3rd party sites just to post a pic on the forum. Better off fixing this one so people can post direct.

Has anyone managed to embed images from Google Drive into a ProBoards post please and if so can you provide the full line you use minus the image ID.
Cheers,
Tom

I am due to start a Simplex build series. What is the latest thoughts and the best approach for me to take please? The model engineering website is easy but there appears to be very few engine builders on that site.
