This isn't going to suit many but its a handy trick if you want to give it a crack; I upload to instagram as I have a detailed build log on there, then open up the HTML source of the webpage to find out the url of the image as stored on the Facebook server (Facebook and Instagram being interlinked now). As a result that means I can just post a link and let them host the image.

Hi All, For anybody else that post, or at least attempts to post, pictures from Flickr using your iPad and has difficulty.....here’s the answer!! www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-us/72157683150814134/I just tried it & it works ! I watched the YouTube how to first, opened the link, which has been updated & you get re-directed, scroll down & followed instructions! Hope somebody finds this useful. Edit update….. Sorry to say but the site is no longer available, back to the drawing board for posting from an iPad Cheers Kerrin

Roger i gather you you know a lot about posting images from your Dropbox account i've successfully inserted the link to my photo in this post and the image shows on my computer where i did the posting but when i go to my ipad to see if the image is in the post it is not there do you have any ideas? i think it has something to do with making the image automatically resize depending on the device you view the image on as a test i'm going to try inserting an image from my ipad instead and see if it can be viewed on the computer thanks Martyn

No Malcolm - no image.
I use Flickr (as does Roger) - maybe that's a better option.

Hi Martyn, Did you try the link I posted on October 26 above? It was simple & worked straight from my iPad? I had tried Rogers “ how to post from Flicker” which worked from my PC, but couldn’t do it from my iPad as it wouldn’t generate the BBC code. To use the link above you need to load your photo into Flicker first, from there it generates the BBC code which you use here......hope that make sense. Check the how too video it explains it way better!
Cheers Kerrin

Martyn, I can't see any pictures on my PC, although one post has a broken link. The others are completely empty.

One other one to try is imgur. All I would say is once it has your photo uploaded ignore the link it gives you, open your image in a new window and use the link for that. imgur.com/upload?betaYou don't have to sign in or anything.
